Scott DL will perform songs from his forthcoming album, Scott DL’s Enlightenment Saloon, at the Opus Concert Café on January 18, 2023 at 7:00 pm. Opus Concert Café is an upscale performance venue with theatrical acoustics and lighting, located in downtown Cedar Rapids on the Paramount Theatre campus.

In 2021, when Scott DL and his wife Lynne decided to move from Britain to Iowa, Scott reached out to longtime friend Gerard Estella to find out about the music scene in Cedar Rapids. At that moment, Estella was searching for an additional performer to feature in a music series at Brucemore titled Once Upon a Time in August 2021. He asked Scott to join the program along with Canadian vocalist Aurélie Berta. The band for that show included Estella (keyboards), Jim Coates (guitar), and Dave Nanke (drums/percussion).

Scott was chosen in 2022 for Brucemore’s Live from the Artisan Studio series and afforded the opportunity to record an album of original songs, several co-written with lyricist D. E. Pals. With Estella serving as producer/engineer and multi-instrumentalist along with the aforementioned musicians and Lincoln Ginsberg (bass) as the band, Scott recorded 11 songs from May to October. The forthcoming album will be titled Scott DL’s Enlightenment Saloon.
